Want to Host a Talented Maine Undergraduate as a Summer Intern?

Over the past three years the Hanley Center has matched a growing number of smart, motivated and hardworking college undergraduates with meaningful summer jobs at health and healthcare organizations across Maine.

They’ve worked at Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital, at Sweetser and Maine CDC, and atInterMed, Maine Ortho, Maine Veterans’ Home, Penobscot Community Health Care and here at the Hanley Center.

The Hanley Center developed its Summer Internship program as a partnership with over a dozen Maine colleges and universities.  Our goal is to help talented students pursue health and healthcare careers here in Maine once they have finished their college education.  The goal of the program is to help the Intern learn about career opportunities and develop contacts that will put them on the path toward a successful career—without leaving Maine.  These are highly motivated, hard-working students at the top of their class who are selected and matched to host organizations through a highly competitive application process.  Sites find that students are available to come on board and make valuable, positive contributions to the organization over the course of the summer.

The Hanley Center is currently looking for organizations to host a summer intern this year. These are paid, full-time positions typically lasting 8-10 weeks. If you are interested in being a host, click here to learn more.  We will be holding two informational calls for prospective sites Tuesday, January 27th at noon and Wednesday, February 11th at 7:30am.  To dial in to the informational call please use 1-866-740-1260 access code 5231501.
